On first start you'll see a long red list of all roms that could be played. From now on the FBA and its frontend are merged in one application.

They all use different romsets so you odds are the same game.zip file won't work on all of them. Here's the release of FBA SDL 0.2.97.35 for GCW-Zero. Tldr: Try games in this order: lr-fba, lr-fba2012, lr-mame2003-plus, lr-mame2010 (it might run some older games fullspeed), and last is the redheaded stepchild.mame2000.

If they ever fix the sega system audio then mame2003-plus will be the emulator to use for that. There's also the existence of mame2003-plus which is backporting fixes from newer, slower mame's (if possible) and adding new games as well. Mame2003 is fullspeed but it has audio bugs and missing audio depending on the sega system game. Using a pi3b+ at 1.5ghz, Moonwalker heats up my pi and still gets slowdowns here and there in lr-fba (2012 has bad audio so don't bother). On a pi3 and 3b+ I believe you can opt out of using 2012 altogether but it might still be needed to get that tiny fps boost in Demonfront on a pi3. Some neogeo games do have minor audio bugs in lr-fba2012 but luckily they run fullspeed in lr-fba. Mame2003 warns you emulation isn't accurate. Using a pi2 at 1ghz, Sunset Riders has severe slowdowns in lr-fba whereas it runs fullspeed in lr-fba2012. It's more noticeable on a pi2 since that's slower. The compatibility lists either don't exist, are outdated, or have mistakes.įBA is the more accurate, slower emulator compared to mame2003 and fba2012.

Also have to consider emulation accuracy. Managing arcade games is a mess because some games run faster than others depending on the emulator.
